Dorset Youth Pride is back at Shire Hall Museum for 2024!
At Shire Hall Museum, we believe that Pride is a celebration for everyone. Dorset Youth Pride is an inclusive event welcoming all members of the LGBTQ+ community, families, young people and allies.
Shire Hall Museum will be open for FREE* on Saturday 13th July. Visitors to Dorset Youth Pride will have the opportunity to take part in a range of inclusive activities whilst exploring one of Dorchester’s most historic buildings.

Alongside stalls and activities around the museum, there will be an exciting programme of events taking place in the historic courtroom.
11am- ‘From Henry VIII to the Present Day’
In this informative talk, discover over 500 years of history in just 10 minutes, as we take a closer look at LGBTQ+ protest and justice throughout time.
12pm- ‘Stronger and Happier’
A panel discussion and Q&A about living as yourself and what progress is needed moving forwards.
1pm- ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’
Join the Wey Valley School choir as they perform songs from their recent production of the Wizard of Oz.
1:30pm- Pride Pick & Mix with Vinyl Van!
Take over the Vinyl Van decks and play some of their favourite music and Pride anthems.
4pm- ‘Young, Gay and a Third Thing’
As part of the Hardy Har (Dorchester’s Comedy Festival) join comedian Andrew White for a hilarious hour of new material tackling identity, authenticity and meat raffles!
