The safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff is our number one priority. In light of the current situation, we have introduced a series of measures to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable whilst at Shire Hall.
Update: Thursday 27th January 2022
Following Government guidance, face coverings are no longer compulsory in a number of public places, including museums and shops.
For the safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff, we would encourage all visitors to wear a face covering whilst in Shire Hall- unless exempt.
Safety Measures & Precautions
We are continuing to take every precaution to ensure our visitors, volunteers and staff remain safe. We’ve been given the ‘Good to Go’ mark by Visit England, as we conform to the latest Government and industry guidelines.
In order to ensure that everyone continues to get the most out of their visit to Shire Hall, whilst remaining safe, we have additional measures and precautions in place. These include:
- an enhanced cleaning schedule
- hand sanitiser points
- one-way system around the Museum
Whilst at Shire Hall, you will still be able to experience our immersive audio guide. These will be thoroughly cleaned between each use. If you feel more comfortable bringing your own headphones, please do so but make sure they’re the jack style.
What COVID-19 precautions do you have in place?
The safety of our visitors, volunteers, staff and wider community remains our main priority. As such, we have put additional safety measures in place, whilst ensuring that everyone still gets the most out of their visit to Shire Hall.
Our additional measures include an enhanced cleaning schedule, regular hand-sanitising stations and a one-way system throughout the museum.
Do I need to wear a face covering around the museum?
No, following the latest Government guidance face coverings are no longer compulsory in indoor settings.
We would, however, encourage our visitors to continue wearing a face covering for the safety of other visitors and our volunteers and staff.
Is there a one-way system?
Yes, there is a one-way system throughout the museum that is clearly marked.
Are you doing track and trace?
Visitors can scan in using the NHS track and trace app.
What happens if I’ve booked a ticket but I can no longer come because I’m self-isolating?
Tickets to Shire Hall are an annual pass, which means you can come back as many times as you want within the year. So, if you’ve booked online and you’re no longer able to visit on the day you planned then you can just visit us another day, no need to rebook!
