Listen to some of Dorset’s most traditional Christmas music in the beautiful acoustics of the Georgian courtroom.

Founded in 1989 by Rollo Woods, the Purbeck Village Quire perform music & songs from the mid-18th to mid-19th century that would have been sung & played in the Churches of Dorset before most churches had organs.

Their Christmas Concert this year features the carols sung by the quarry workers from Worth Matravers along with other music from the Purbeck area.

As well as the music, their programme will also tell you something of the history of West gallery Music and something of life in rural Dorset 200 years ago.
